Who we are
MG Academy is a tuition and mentoring service operated by Mohit Gupta. For the purposes of UK GDPR, Mohit Gupta is the data controller for personal data collected through accawithmohit.com.
If you have any question about how your data is handled, email mohit@accawithmohit.com.
What we collect
When you book a free class we collect your name, email address, WhatsApp number and the ACCA paper you are interested in, plus anything you choose to write in the message field.
When you create an account we additionally collect your current ACCA level, the papers you are interested in, your target exam sitting, your preferred study mode and how you heard about us. Your password is stored as a salted hash by our authentication provider and is never visible to us.
We use privacy-friendly analytics that do not set cookies and do not track you across other websites. We do not build advertising profiles and we do not run advertising on this site.
Why we use it, and our lawful basis
To reply to your enquiry and arrange a class — our lawful basis is your consent, given when you tick the consent box or submit the enquiry form.
To provide the coaching you have signed up for, including scheduling and sending materials — our lawful basis is performance of a contract.
To keep basic financial and enrolment records — our lawful basis is compliance with a legal obligation.
We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone for marketing purposes.
Who processes it on our behalf
We use a small number of service providers who process data on our instructions: a hosting provider, a database and authentication provider, an email delivery provider and a scheduling tool. Each is bound by a data processing agreement.
Some of these providers operate outside the UK. Where that happens, transfers are covered by the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or an equivalent safeguard.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become students are deleted after 24 months.
Student account and coaching records are kept for the duration of your studies with us and for six years after your last session, to meet financial record-keeping requirements.
You can ask us to delete your data sooner and we will, except where we are legally required to keep it.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have your data deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive a copy in a portable format.
Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time — reply STOP to any WhatsApp message, use the unsubscribe link in any email, or email mohit@accawithmohit.com. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that already happened.
To exercise any of these rights, email us. We will respond within one month.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how your data has been handled, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top and, where appropriate, tell you directly.
